Come fish Lake Michigan with Bob Turner on the Kelly Day

There’s an old tale that Edward J. Kelly, mayor of Chicago 1933 - 1947, gave firefighters one day off after seven on duty as a tactic to reduce fatigue as well as overtime pay. Hence, a firefighter’s day-off became known as a “Kelly Day.” When Captain Bob Turner retired from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport Fire Department in 2015, he quickly left the hustle of Southeast Michigan in favor of the more relaxed and nature-centric serenity of Beaver Island. He now enjoys his never-ending days off aboard the aptly named Kelly Day.
